Wood briquettes are produced by pressing dry wood dust, grit, sawdust, shavings and bark in the shape of prisms, cylinders or hexagons. Briquettes made of soft wood with a hole in the middle, are highly recommended of heating any home quickly. Solid briquettes are more suitable for sustained heating of the home. Briquettes are stable and low moisture (water content usually around 8%) and low ash content (0.3 – 1%). The calorific value of briquettes depends on their quality and composition. It is usually 12 to 18 MJ / kg.
Wood briquettes are supplied in either bags, most often weighing 10 kg, or stacked on pallets weighing up to 1000 kg.
